Selected EU-funded projects

These projects address advanced digital skills, VET quality, capacity building, gender equality and the inclusion of vulnerable groups.

Tech Time 2 Skill (Digital Europe Programme) – Coordinator

The Tech Time 2 Skill project was launched in 2023 by Simplon in France, BeCode in Belgium, and Factoria F5 in Spain, together with industry partners such as Microsoft, Agoria, Agence du Numérique and PIMEC. The project responds to one of today’s biggest challenges: helping small and medium-sized enterprises, and job seekers, adapt to the rapid digital transformation, especially in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. Tech Time 2 Skill has trained nearly 1,500 people across the three European countries.

CapacIT 4 Africa (Erasmus+) – Coordinator

Capac’IT 4 Africa was a two-year capacity-building project co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme and supported by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Bringing together 11 partners across 10 countries, the project aimed to strengthen the quality and relevance of digital vocational training in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Through training, peer learning and experimentation, Capac’IT supported 164 professionals in modernising pedagogical practices, strengthening quality management, and better aligning training programmes with labour market needs.

Femme Forward (Erasmus+) – Coordinator

Femme Forward was an EU-funded initiative aimed at reducing the gender gap in the digital economy by empowering women with the skills, confidence, and support to pursue technology careers or launch their own tech startups. Over its two-year duration, it delivered innovative training programs and resources, helping more than 500 women from diverse backgrounds access digital skills, career pathways, and entrepreneurship opportunities. The project was delivered by a consortium of 15 partners across Europe and created open-access educational materials, mentoring networks, and community support to foster greater inclusion of women in tech roles and leadership.

SkillResilience4EU (Horizon) - Beneficiary

SkillResilience4EU is a Horizon Europe-funded research initiative focused on strengthening the resilience of European labour markets amid the twin transition — the combined effects of digital and green transformations on jobs and skills. The project aims to develop a new conceptual framework to understand how these transitions reshape jobs, highlight skill mismatches, and identify practical ways to support reskilling and upskilling across sectors and regions. It will produce tools for policymakers and practical resources for individuals and employers, map and evaluate training programmes, and offer recommendations to help workers adapt to changing labour market demands while promoting inclusion and social cohesion.

Virtual Innovation Consortium (Digital Europe Programme) – Beneficiary

VIC (Virtual Innovation Consortium) is an EU-funded initiative designed to help close Europe’s advanced digital skills gap by focusing on Extended Reality (XR), such as virtual and augmented reality. It brings together universities, research organisations, vocational training providers, and industry partners to develop high-level education and training pathways (including a specialised Master’s degree, advanced training modules, and an annual Summer School) targeted not only at ICT professionals but also at people from non-tech fields like education, healthcare, design and architecture. The goal is to equip a diverse group of learners with practical, immersive technology skills that enhance employability and support Europe’s digital transformation.

NewTalents4EU (AMIF) – Coordinator

The New Talents 4EU project was an EU-funded initiative aimed at showing that refugees’ skills are a valuable resource for the European labour market and economy. It developed and piloted an innovative path for integrating refugees into employment by offering market-focused IT training ranging from basic digital skills to coding and programming and connecting them with public services, employers and social partners in four EU countries (France, UK, Italy and Hungary). The project also produced a standardised training model that can be adapted and replicated elsewhere to support refugees’ long-term employability and labour market integration.

Our role in EU consortia

Simplon acts as both Coordinator and Beneficiary, depending on project scope, scale and consortium needs. As Coordinator, we bring strong expertise in pedagogical leadership, inclusion strategies, quality frameworks and partner coordination.

As Beneficiary, we contribute high value to work packages related to training design, pilot implementation, inclusion, quality assurance, dissemination and sustainability.

Our flexible positioning allows consortia to optimise governance structures and strengthen overall proposal credibility and feasibility.

Simplon is actively positioning itself on upcoming EU priorities, including:
Adult basic skills and lifelong learning
Upskilling and reskilling for digital transitions
Innovative pedagogy and learning formats
